Cookie policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies our website uses, what they do and how long they last. Necessary cookies are always on, while analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you allow them, and you can change your choice at any time.
How we ask for your consent
Under Dutch law (article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act) and the GDPR, we may only use cookies that are not strictly necessary if you agree. That is why a banner appears on your first visit, with three options:
- Reject all: we only use necessary cookies.
- Accept all: we also use analytics and marketing cookies.
- Choose cookies: you switch Analytics and Marketing on or off one by one, then choose "Save choices".
"Reject all" and "Accept all" are equally easy. Analytics and Marketing stay off until you switch them on. You can use the whole website without making a choice, and nothing is switched on because you scroll or keep browsing.
Until you choose, and after "Reject all", our website does not load Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel, Google Ads or the ChatGPT Ads pixel at all. We use Google Consent Mode in its basic form: Google's script only loads after you allow Analytics (Google Analytics) or Marketing (Google Ads). If you accept, data about your visit is shared with 3 third parties: Google, Meta and OpenAI.
We remember your choice, both a yes and a no, for 12 months. Some browsers, such as Safari, may delete it sooner if you have not visited our website for a while. After 12 months, or if we change the cookies we use or what we use them for, we ask again. Your choice is stored in the browser you use, so on another device or browser we ask you again.
Our three categories
- Necessary (always on): needed for the website to work and stay secure: our cookie that remembers your choice, the Cloudflare security cookie _cfuvid and the Cloudflare Turnstile spam protection on our forms. These do not need your consent and cannot be switched off.
- Analytics (off by default): Google Analytics 4, to see which pages are visited and how people find our website.
- Marketing (off by default): the Meta Pixel, Google Ads and the ChatGPT Ads pixel, to measure and improve our ads on Facebook, Instagram, Google and ChatGPT. We use them only for this measurement, not to target ads at people who visited our website. Meta also uses this data for its own advertising. This setting also tells Google, through Google Consent Mode, whether advertising storage and advertising signals may be used.
Necessary cookies
These are always on. They do not track you across other websites.
ws_consent
- Set by: WedgeView Studios (Roestey B.V.)
- Purpose: remembers your cookie choice. It holds the version of our cookie notice you saw, the date and time of your choice, a random consent ID, and whether you allowed Analytics and Marketing (yes or no). We do not link the random ID to your name or to anything you send us.
- Lasts: 12 months (some browsers, such as Safari, may delete it sooner)
- Type: first party
_cfuvid
- Set by: Cloudflare, for our hosting provider Webflow
- Purpose: security. It lets the firewall tell apart visitors who share the same IP address, so it can stop attacks without blocking you.
- Lasts: until you close your browser
- Type: first party, set by our hosting network
cf_clearance
- Set by: Cloudflare, for our hosting provider Webflow
- Purpose: remembers that you passed a security check. It is only set if our hosting network shows you a security check. We have not seen it during normal use.
- Lasts: a short time, set in our hosting provider's security settings
- Type: first party, set by our hosting network
Cloudflare Turnstile (no cookie)
- Set by: Cloudflare (challenges.cloudflare.com)
- Purpose: checks that a person, not a bot, sends our booking and contact forms. It only runs on our Book and Contact pages and processes your IP address, browser data and technical details of your connection. It sets no cookies.
- Lasts: nothing is stored on your device
- Type: third-party service
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
These cookies are only set if you switch on Analytics. They come from Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. Google receives the pages you view, how you arrived, your browser and device type, an approximate location and the random ID in the cookie. When you send a booking request or a contact message, we also send Google an event with a few details that do not identify you. We never send your name, email address, phone number or message.
_ga
- Set by: Google Analytics
- Purpose: tells visitors apart with a random ID.
- Lasts: 90 days after your last visit
- Type: first party (wedgeviewstudios.com)
_ga_021EKBEZ96
- Set by: Google Analytics
- Purpose: keeps track of your current visit (session).
- Lasts: 90 days after your last visit
- Type: first party (wedgeviewstudios.com)
The lifetime starts again each time you visit. Some browsers, such as Safari, delete these cookies sooner. More information: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can also block Google Analytics on all websites with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Marketing cookies (only with your consent)
These cookies are only used if you switch on Marketing. They come from the Meta Pixel of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, from Google Ads of Google Ireland Limited and from the ChatGPT Ads pixel of OpenAI Ireland Limited. We use them only to measure the results of our ads, and we do not build advertising audiences from them. We and Meta are joint controllers for collecting the Meta Pixel data on our website and sending it to Meta. For Google Ads conversion measurement, Google is an independent controller, and so is OpenAI for the ChatGPT Ads pixel. Our Privacy policy explains what this means and how to use your rights.

- Type: third party (facebook.com)
Other Meta cookies
- Set by: Meta (facebook.com)
- Purpose: if you use Facebook or Instagram, Meta has its own cookies in your browser, such as datr, sb, c_user and xs. Meta can read them when the Pixel runs and link your visit to your Meta account.
- Lasts: set by Meta, see Meta's Cookies Policy
- Type: third party (facebook.com)
Google Ads and advertising signals
Google Ads only runs if you allow Marketing, and only to measure whether people who clicked one of our ads on Google send a booking request or a contact message. Ad personalisation and enhanced conversions are switched off, and we never send Google the contents of our forms or your contact details. Google may also read or set cookies on its own domains. Through Google Consent Mode, your Marketing choice also tells Google whether advertising storage and advertising signals may be used. Our Google Analytics is not linked to Google Ads, and Google signals stay switched off.
Change or withdraw your consent
You can change your choice at any time, as easily as you gave it. Use the button below, or the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
Analytics and Marketing are off unless you switch them on.
If you switch off a category you allowed before, we tell Google, Meta or OpenAI that you have withdrawn your consent and delete their cookies on our domain. If their scripts are running, we reload the page so they stop. Withdrawing does not affect what happened before you withdrew.
We cannot delete the cookies that Meta and Google set on their own domains, such as Meta's cookies on facebook.com. You can delete those in your browser. You can also manage how Meta uses data from other websites in your Facebook or Instagram settings, and how Google uses data for ads in your Google account.
Cookies and your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Your browser's help pages explain how. If you block all cookies, most of our website still works, but we cannot remember your cookie choice and the banner will appear again. If you delete the ws_consent cookie, we will ask for your choice again.
Private browsing is another option: your browser then deletes cookies when you close the window.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we change the cookies or services we use. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. This version applies from 6 October 2026. If a change needs your consent, the banner will ask you again.
